A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

Psalm 145:4 says “One generation commends your word to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” “One generation… to another.” God’s Word tells us that each generation is mandated to pour into the generation that follows, to share the stories of God’s grace, redemption and glory.

In 2016 a miracle of faith took place. As a congregation we made $1 million in commitments to build a $3.2 million facility that would allow us to impact each generation with the Gospel message. We actually raised more than $1.2 million! As a result we added significant children and youth ministry space while also allowing for new opportunities for fellowship and conversation. God has blessed our church!

That was the first leg of this vision for ministry impact. Our next challenge is to manage and pay down the $1.8 million we still owe from that project. We need generous people like you to step forward and help us by making a commitment over the next three years that will allow us to be faithful in continuing to tell the story of God’s amazing love.

His,
Pastor Geoff Schultz

WHAT IS GENERATIONS OF FAITH?
Generations fo Faith is our opportunity to be faithful stewards of the facilities God has entrusted us with as we seek to pay down debt from our building renovation and expansion in 2020. Our goal is to raise $1 million while encouraging our people to willingly grow in the grace of giving – without coercion or pressure.

WHAT IS THE PLAN?
We invite our church to make a commitment for three years over and above their regular offering to accomplish our goal of raising $1 million. We will collect commitments on Sunday, Nov. 20. We will be talking about the campaign on Sundays and through Group Fellowships in early November.

HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MUCH TO GIVE?
Pray daily and allow God to open your heart and direct you concerning your commitment. Through prayer and personal assessment, you will know what to give. It is important, however, that the amount should be over and above your regular giving. To split our current giving between operating expenses and the campaign will endanger our ongoing ministry programming.

WHAT ABOUT MY REGULAR GIVING?
Your commitment to Generations of Faith should be an amount God leads you to give over and above your regular tithe and offerings. We must maintain our giving to the operating budget so that day-to-day ministry operations will be unaffected.
WILL MY CONTRIBUTION BE MADE PUBLIC?
No. Only the total of all commitments received will be announced on the last Sunday of the campaign (Nov. 27). Only the financial secretary will know each individual’s commitment.

HOW LONG
DO I GIVE?
You will receive a commitment card and be asked to fill out the card with the total amount you intend to give over a three-year period. You may give weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly or in a lump sum. Give according to what works best for you over that timeframe.

WHAT ARE THE FUNDS FOR?
The primary goal is to service and pay down our debt from our most recent expansion. The church owes $1.8 million from the $3.2 million expansion accomplished in 2020. We also hope to raise funds for replacing HVAC units that are wearing out, enhancements to our AV system in the sanctuary and kitchen upgrades. We have long needed a more expansive garage for housing equipment. Our Elyria campus will benefit from updates to make the building inviting for visitors.
WHAT CAN I DO?
You can begin now by praying to know and do God’s will concerning your gift to the campaign. Spend time in prayer reflecting on God’s generosity toward you. The amount he leads you to give will be the right amount (II Cor. 8:11-14). You can fill out a commitment card and return it in the offering or to the church office by Sunday, Nov. 20.
HOW WILL I DESIGNATE
MY GIVING FOR GENERATONS OF FAITH?
Our offering envelopes will have an area for you to indicate what part of your offering is to go toward Generations of Faith. If you give online or through Venmo be sure to designate your gift on the appropriate line.
HOW SHOULD I GIVE?
Fill out a commitment card by Sunday, Nov. 20. The giving period will last for three years. You can give far more when it is spread out over time. You may choose to give weekly, quarterly, even make yearly payments.

Second, Sunday, Nov. 27 is Blessed to Give Sunday. You can bring your first offering toward the campaign beginning that day.

Third, you can give a gift of assests. In addition to your monetary gifts, you can give real estate, stocks, bonds, coins, gold, etc. Call the church office at 440.779.9484 for more information.

Fourth, you can make the church a beneficiary in your will. There are many tools available to you now that can benefit the church and leave an inheritance for your heirs at the same time. Our church staff can put you in contact with professionals in this area who can assist you as you plan.
